1. Data Controller

SportConnectGN ("we") is responsible for processing the personal data collected through the sportconnectgn.com website and associated applications. For any question regarding this policy: contact@sportconnectgn.com.

2. Data Collected

We may collect, among other things: account credentials (email address, username), encrypted password, sports profile information (sports practiced, level, availability), messages exchanged on the platform, technical data (logs, device type, approximate IP address) and, where applicable, identifiers provided by authentication providers (for example Google or Apple) when you choose those sign-in methods. If you connect Apple Health or Health Connect, we also receive the physical activity data described in section 3.

3. Health and Physical Activity Data (Apple Health and Health Connect)

The SportConnectGN apps can connect to Apple Health (HealthKit) on iPhone and to Health Connect on Android. This connection is optional: it only happens if you turn it on in the app and grant the permissions your phone asks for. The website does not access any health data. Data read. The app reads this data but writes nothing to Apple Health or Health Connect: - your workouts (sport type, start and end time, duration); - active calories burned; - distance covered; - step count; - heart rate and resting heart rate. How we use it: - Your workouts are imported into your SportConnectGN history. For each workout, we store on our servers the sport, date, duration, active calories and distance, plus a technical identifier that prevents duplicates. These workouts feed your stats, goals, badges, challenges and leaderboards. - Steps, heart rate and resting heart rate are only shown in the app, on your phone. They are never sent to our servers. - If you allow it, the app also imports your new workouts in the background, without you having to open it. Sharing: - Like your other workouts, imported workouts are visible in the Community feed to the people you are connected with on SportConnectGN (conversation, match, shared activity or club). You can turn this sharing off at any time in the app settings, with the "Share my workouts" option. - If you use the AI Coach or progress insights, your workouts, including imported ones, may be sent to Anthropic to produce the answer (see section 7). This data is not used to train artificial intelligence models. - We do not sell this data. We do not use it for advertising, or to assess creditworthiness, insurance or employment. We do not transfer it to any third party other than our hosting providers, unless required by law. - The use and transfer of information received from Health Connect adheres to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Retention, removing access and deletion: - Imported workouts are kept as long as your account exists. You can delete a workout in the app, and deleting your account erases all your workouts (see section 9). - You can remove access at any time: on iPhone, in Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices > SportConnectGN; on Android, in the Health Connect settings > App permissions > SportConnectGN. Workouts already imported stay in your history until you delete them.

4. Purposes

The data is used to: create and manage your account, provide the service (matchmaking, activities, messaging), ensure security and moderation, improve the product, comply with our legal obligations and, with your consent where required by law, for relevant communications.

5. Legal Basis

Processing is based on the performance of the contract (provision of the service), our legitimate interest (security, service improvement) and, where applicable, your consent (non-essential cookies, certain communications).

6. Retention Period

We retain data for as long as necessary for the purposes described, then archive or delete it in accordance with applicable regulations. Certain data may be kept longer where required by law.

7. Recipients

The data is processed by our teams and our technical subprocessors (hosting, infrastructure). When you use sign-in with Google or Apple, those companies process data according to their own policies; we receive only the information necessary for authentication and for the profile you agree to share. Artificial intelligence features (AI Coach, progress insights, activity suggestions, explanations of suggested partners) are provided by Anthropic (United States), with its Claude model. We only send it the data needed for the answer: your messages to the AI Coach, your level, sports, city and neighborhood, your sessions (including those imported from Apple Health or Health Connect), records and joined activities, and the sports profile of suggested partners, without names, email addresses or phone numbers.

8. Transfers

If data is hosted or processed outside your country of residence, we implement appropriate safeguards (standard contractual clauses, adequacy decisions, or equivalent measures) where required by law.

9. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have a right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. You may also withdraw your consent where processing depends on it. 10. Cookies and Trackers

We use cookies and similar technologies for the operation of the site, audience measurement and, with your consent, to improve your experience. You can manage your preferences via the cookie banner or your browser settings.

11. Changes

We may update this policy; the date of the last update is shown at the bottom of the page. Significant changes will be notified to you by an appropriate means (banner, email or notification).
